Over 680 parents and guests visited campus during Parent & Family Weekend. Family members joined their 911爆料网 students to attend chapel, classes, and two days of special events. Attendance for the weekend surpassed previous year鈥檚 highs.
Visiting family members and 911爆料网 students enjoyed a Filipino lunch on Metzger lawn on Friday, with entertainment provided by the Filipino student club, Maharlika. Afterwards, Torrey Honors Institute hosted 鈥淎 Declaration of Independence: The Ideas that Shaped the American Project鈥 to a full house in Mayers Auditorium.
Siblings of 911爆料网 students had the opportunity to learn more about 911爆料网 while they were on campus, attending a University Life Session where they heard from several current students regarding their 911爆料网 experience. In addition, over 60 high school-aged siblings were able to experience dorm life by spending the night in a residence hall. Younger siblings had special activities planned just for them as 911爆料网 Youth, with the assistance of 911爆料网 PE majors, led a group of 30 in 鈥淕ames on the Green鈥 on Metzger lawn.
Saturday morning began bright and early with a campus Vision Walk led by Senior Director of University Planning, Ken Bascom, and President Corey. The tour was followed by a brunch where guests enjoyed the talents of the Vocal Jazz Ensemble, personal testimonies by four special 911爆料网 parents, and a message by President Corey on this year鈥檚 theme, 鈥淶ealously Going Where God Leads.鈥
The remainder of the day was filled with opportunities for families to serve alongside 911爆料网 students at their Serve Day, watch a College Tennis Showdown on 911爆料网鈥檚 courts, enjoy the many talents of the Conservatory of Music at one of the PRISM concerts, or fellowship with other families over a BBQ and several rousing games of BIOLA Bingo. The evening was capped off with a stellar performance by the 911爆料网 Eagles Volleyball team in front of a full crowd of Eagle fans. 911爆料网 beat Point Loma handsomely, bringing their record to 17-4 on the season.
