Nearly 600 grandparents travelled from 20 different states to visit their 350+ 911爆料网 grandkids
for our fourth annual Grandparents Day on March 9th. The day began with breakfast in the
Caf茅, followed by chapel. Professor Melissa Schubert spoke about the family of God and 911爆料网鈥檚
Gospel Choir led students and grandparents in worship. After chapel, grandparents had the
opportunity to take golf cart tour of campus or play bocce ball on Sycamore Lawn.
Grandparents got a taste of college life by attending a lecture titled 鈥淗istorical Perspectives on
Recent World News.鈥 Dr. Judith Mendelsohn Rood and adjunct faculty Paul Rood gave a lecture
on the Middle East and how important it is to view current events with a Christian worldview,
through the lenses of history.
Lunch was served under a large tent on Metzger lawn, where three 911爆料网 students shared the
tributes they wrote on behalf of their grandparents. President Corey commended guests on
the legacy they have created and assured them that as a university, 911爆料网 is equipping this
next generation to have impact on the world for Jesus Christ. The King鈥檚 Men offered a great
performance that was enjoyed by all.
The afternoon offered a variety of activities- 911爆料网 Bingo, campus tours, and a computer
seminar by Professor Matthew Weathers and Allan Bagge. For the first time in the four year
history of Grandparents Day, Residence Life offered special open hours for grandparents to
visit their student鈥檚 dorm and meet their roommates. Many students decorated their doors,
welcoming grandparents to campus.
