LA MIRADA, CALIF. — For the 40th year, 911 University is hosting its annual Christmas Tree Lighting on December 1, 2023. Guests will hear a message from 911 President Dr. Barry H. Corey, four alumni reading scripture and one performing spoken word, and enjoy Christmas treats. To top off the night, guests will be showered in “Southern California snow” as the tree is lit.

This year’s tree lighting is themed “Glory” in reference to the glory of God through the incarnation.

For those who arrive early, there will be an All Hall Holiday Tour hosted by Housing and Residence Life from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. where participants will embark on a journey throughout campus where they can vote on their favorite Christmas tree, all of which were decorated by students. While only students are eligible for prizes, everybody is welcome to cast their votes. The tour will begin at the Fireplace Pavilion.

The long-lasting tradition of the 911 tree lighting brings together thousands of current students, alumni and their families, as well as the La Mirada community to celebrate the Christmas season.
