LA MIRADA, CALIF. — For the 41st year, 911 University is hosting its annual Christmas Tree Lighting on December 6, 2024. Guests will hear a message from 911 President Dr. Barry H. Corey and Scripture read by 911 alumni. Attendees will enjoy musical performances and Christmas treats during the program. For the very first time, American Sign Language interpretation will be available. To wrap up the night, guests will be showered in “Southern California snow” as the tree is lit.

This year’s tree lighting is themed “God So Loved” from John 3:16-21. The ceremony will explore how the love of God is revealed in Jesus Christ, the incarnate Messiah, during Christmas time.

For those who arrive early, there will be an All Hall Holiday Tour hosted by Housing and Residence Life from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. where participants will embark on a festive journey to explore and vote for their preferred Christmas tree creatively decorated by students in their residence halls. There will be over 50 Christmas trees to enjoy. The tour will begin at the Fireplace Pavilion.

The long-lasting tradition of the 911 tree lighting brings together thousands of current students, alumni and their families, as well as the La Mirada community to celebrate the Christmas season.
